Project Engineer

Location: Glendale, CA

We're looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join our Glendale, CA team!

SO WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

Under the direction of the assigned Project Manager, this position assists with the planning, developing, coordination, and management of onsite construction engineering activities for ACCO Construction projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Assists the Project Manager (and/or a higher-level Project Engineer) planning the work schedule, determining manpower levels, and arranging for assignment of project personnel.
  • Assist with coordinating the project personnel activities to insure project progresses on schedule and within budget.
  • Escalates to Project Manager (and/or higher-level Project Engineer) of potential problems, work interferences, and assists with resolving such problems as required.
  • Learns and utilizes ACCO standard requirements for Project Management to insure project engineering activities comply with ACCO standards and support the overall construction schedule.
  • Utilizing ACCO standard Engineering technologies, provide technical support for the construction effort including participating in the planning and design; interpretation of the design; value engineering and alternate solution reviews, etc.
  • Prepare special reports, studies, and analyses per Project Manager’s request.
  • Oversee and/or process daily administrative items (i.e., purchase orders, operating budgets, etc.) per Project Manager’s direction.
  • Compose and/or edit letters, memos, e-mail correspondence, reports, and procedures as required.
  • Other duties as directed by partnering higher-level Project Engineers, Project Managers, Sales Management, and/or Engineering leadership.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BE A PART OF THIS ALL STAR TEAM?

  • BS in Engineering; Mechanical concentration strongly preferred
  • Minimum two years of general relevant industry business work experience or equivalent combination of training and related experience.
  • Proficiency and proven success in interpersonal communication skills and customer service interactions.
  • Proficiency and demonstrated organizational and time management abilities.
  • Excellent oral and written business communication skills, including the ability to listen and follow directions.
  • Demonstrates and commits to a high level of integrity.
  • Ability to commit to regular, on-time attendance both in the designated office location and/or at an assigned project job site. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The employee may regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision and Distance vision. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to walk and sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl (for purposes of assisting with project job walks and site inspections). The employee is occasionally required to reach above shoulder height to access storage cabinets and shelves.
